Marcus Ritter Gallery, Leipzig presents a solo exhibition by British, New York-based artist, Rupert Goldsworthy. The show opens on Sunday November 25th from 2-5pm.

The exhibition features brand new, large-format paintings on paper and wall drawings that fill the gallery.

The opening will also premier Goldsworthy's new collaborative artist‘s book with legendary British musician/artist Mark Stewart of The Pop Group/Maffia. The book is published by influential NYC publisher "Straight To Hell Editions.“ Titled "Words & Pictures“ it will be available at the exhibition opening.

Goldsworthy‘s art has been shown at the Tate Modern, in the "Whitney Biennial“ at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Swiss Institute NY, "New Contemporaries“ at the Whitworth Gallery Manchester, Paula Cooper Gallery, Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art/Conservas, and at White Columns.

His books include "CONSUMING//TERROR: Images of the Baader-Meinhof" (DMV, 2009) and "Corrupt and Obscene" (forthcoming).

Goldsworthy holds a PhD in Art Education/Visual Culture from NYU. He has taught at New York University, Pratt Institute, School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design/The New School and the International Center for Photography, NYC.
